We are very pleased to offer for sale our business, Abrams Antiques Mall, the fruit of over 27 fun and interesting years of dedicated love, learning, and labor. We are selling our antiques & gifts business located in gorgeous Destin, Florida with a view of the whitest beaches in the U.S.. I can’t tell you how many times we have just dropped what we were doing to walk outside and savor the beautiful sunsets. We have a great reputation and there is never a day when at least one customer says that this is the coolest antiques store they’ve ever seen. We have something for everybody. We are located in a shopping center right at the foot of Destin Bridge and right next to the famous McGuire’s Irish Pub. Across the street is the brand new “Emerald Grande”, which is a $200,000,000 luxury condominium.
We have 12,000 square feet of PREMIUM Destin space. When we bought this location four years ago, it was more of an imports & gift mall and the owner rented out 20 spaces to other dealers. We have deliberately lessened the number of dealers to 10 and feel like we encompass a wide variety of gifts and antiques.
Everything you could possibly want in a business is ready for you. You get a million dollars (plus) worth of stock. You get the great location and the great lease agreement; the landlord is great to work with. You get all of the showcases, appliances, work areas, signage, lighting, computers, printers, phones; it just goes on and on. The only things you don’t get are the jewelry, the other dealers items, the few consignments and our personal reference books.
Our showcases alone are fantastic; the majority of them are “Howard Miller” and they really show well. We have 19 cherry display cases, 3 oak, 4 huge oak, 2 corner oak, and four corner cherry cases from Howard Miller. We have two large custom made oak cases, a vintage 6 ft. oak store display, a huge white display case from a shop in France, an 8 ft. store counter in laminate and aluminum, 2 four foot aluminum cases, a tall square aluminum case, a huge laminate counter and dozens of display shelves; etc. We just added ten huge lit, lockable cases, a new checkout area with lit cases and some fabulous custom cases from the local Wyland's Gallery that closed. All in all, it's a beautiful place.
You also get free labor from Jerry & me if you need it to transition. We would also be available to work for you later if you need us. We absolutely love what we do, but we are reaching the age ( in our 60’s ) that we need to slow down a little and be available if our parents or kids need us. We plan to still do appraisals, “antiques road shows", estate work, and eBay sales.
This is the largest military retirement area in the U.S. and these folks have traveled all over the world. There isn’t a week that goes by that someone doesn’t bring in something that we just have the best time researching and talking about; it’s always a learning process and it’s always fun.
